The online application collects personal and educational information about applicants. Applicants are also asked to explain course preferences and interests in SAMMS as well as provide the contact information for the reference writer. In addition applicants need to upload PDF files (no other format) for the following:
- Transcript of the most recent undergraduate institution. This can be an unofficial grade or advising report but should contain course titles, numbers, and grades. (Descriptions of important math courses can be included in the 'Educational Background' section of the online form) (Max 2MB)
- Current Curriculum Vitae. (max 4 pages)
- Letter of Recommendation. One letter from a mathematics professor. The letter should be sent directly to Sandy Masters (see below) by regular mail with official letter head or by email from a verifiable university account.
Applicants should have had one year of calculus and about a semester of abstract or linear algebra in order to qualify. Additional mathematics courses that demonstrate a continued involvement with mathematics are beneficial. We also expect to admit primarily students from traditionally underrepresented minorities.
Reference Letters should be sent to either by email (preferred) to firstname.lastname@example.org or by postal mail toSandy Masters: SAMMS
