Practical Information & Support


Accepted participants will receive travel reimbursement for up to $700. Flights need to be coach class using US carries. Mileage of car travel is capped at $300. All receipts must be presented. The airport is John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH). Information about the airport commute will be given to participants shortly before the event.


Non-local SAMMS participants will have rooms reserved and payed for by the mathematics department at a nearly local hotel. Two participants will share a room. Breakfast is included.


Besides the breakfast participants receive meal plan cards with which they can used at many University dining service locations on campus.

Study Space

SAMMS participants will have study space available.

Computer & Internet Access

Wireless internet access is freely available both in the hotel, the department, and most places on campus. There is also limited, shared desktop computer access. Participants are encouraged to bring their own mobile computers (laptop, tablet).

Weekend Excursions

Planned weekend group excursions to places such as the Columbus Zoo, COSI (the Center of Science and Industry) are included in the program, with costs covered by SAMMS.
